TRUE INDIAN HAIR was founded by Karen Mitchell in 2005 after a business trip to India for a Fashion company she was working for, led to unexpectedly discovering the vast world of Temple Hair at a dinner table conversation in Bangalore.  Although she wore extensions for many years, she had no idea of the history and mystery  of "Real" Human Hair vs Beauty Supply Hair. That conversation in India led to months of research, education, additional travels and eventually the birth of True Indian Hair.

Here at TRUE INDIAN HAIR, we pride ourselves in providing our clients with 100% virgin cuticle hair coming directly from the source of the hair, the donor themselves.  Our Indian hair is Temple hair imported directly from East India.  The hair is handpicked , sterilized, and sorted for the best quality and textures so we can provide you with a product that is superior to the so-call remy hair being sold on the market today.

Most of the so-call remy hair being sold on the market today whether in your local beauty supply store, salons, or on the web are not real cuticle remy hair but are "mixed human hair" sold as 100% human hair.  Many manufacturers of Beauty Supply hair are now repackaging and renaming their hair with new labels posted as "Remy Hair".  Most of this hair is basically throw-away hair that has been stripped of its cuticle in acid baths, coated with silicone and mixed with animal hair and plastic fibers that gives the hair an unnatural texture and  tangles easily after a few washes.

Our Hair is unprocessed human hair that has not been chemically treated. There are no permanent/semi-permanent colors, perms, or relaxers  used to alter the color, texture or curl pattern of the hair. To prevent tangling, all the hairs are placed with the cuticles in the same direction.

Our  hair  comes  in natural textures of Straight, Wavy  and Curly and in  natural tones of black and browns. The hair can be colored with professional permanent, semi-permanent and cellophane coloring products.   The hair comes in bulk, machined weft or hand-tied. Bulk hair is used for braiding and fusion. Machine wefts and hand-tied wefts are used for weaving.   

Our hair is reusable and with the proper care can last 6 months to a year or longer.
